Kustom PCs LAN Party events are here to put some random fun back into gaming. It’s not all about tournaments or cash prizes, but lots of big silly games that put a smile on your face. Making the ‘party’ in the name more relevant than most, if you will. Not just another event filled with endless FPS tournaments.
Returning to ESC Games on 1st May for the 2nd Kustom Grind Night. Apparently people liked it, so we're doing it again. Win.

The Venue
Soldat Soldat looks a little like worms but is a real time variant - cutesy, fast 2d graphics and gameplay that's addictive and highly competitive. It's a free game and can be downloadedhere.
Altitude Altitude is to flight simulation as Soldat is to war based combat. Simple graphics but fast, gameplay with lots and lots of shooting. We'll play bomb the base and football scenarios. We'll be using the free demo version, available here.
ESC Games is Glasgow's favourite gaming centre, with 16 gaming PCs set up ready for use with great pricing too ! The Grind Night has been an all night event every two weeks, but this time we're giving it the Kustom LAN twist.
It's all nice and relaxed during the day. But as soon as we fire up Armagetron, expect it to get a bit loud and flashy.
How to get the games?
We try to use as many freely available games as possible, but some are commercial games and you do need to buy them to take part - specifically Call of Duty MW2, Counterstrike, FlatOut2. The rest of the games are all freely available - there's links to download them in the blurbs to your left . Please try to have them downloaded and installed prior to the event so we have more time gaming and less time waiting on progress bars. For players using the Rental PC option, everything will be loaded and ready to go.
What do I need to bring?
For Bring Your Own Computer players, please bring your PC, monitor, keyboard, mouse, headphones and power cables. A network point will be supplied at the event. For Rental PC customers, you really just need to bring yourself, but if you want to use your own mouse / keyboard / headphones feel free to bring those with you too.

We'll be running a similar schedule and game set to as used at the last Kustom LAN Party in Ayr. There's a bunch of video clips on thekustompcs youtube channel from LAN 6 to give you some idea of the expected gaming action.

Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 The latest, most intense shooter in the Call of Duty series. This is where we knuckle down and try and be serious for a while. Well, after a round of 'knifes only' of course.
Trackmania Nations Don't think because you know the Nadeo tracks you'll get an easy run here We run a set of Time Attack challenges on varying custom tracks. A few easy ones, and a few fiendish ones. Free download viaSteam.
Armagetron Short Tails We introduce 'short tail Tron' with a practise session - it's more a case of attacking than surviving compared to traditional Armagetron. Followed by a game of Fortress (base defence and capture), then Sumo - where you fight 4 bikes in an attempt to win the circle.
Flatout 2 Keeping the atmosphere of our previous 'GRID' Destruction Derby, FlatOut 2 offers some excellent racing mayhem where the occasional nudge is actively encouraged. Includes our famous 'Chilli Con Carnage' scenario, which usually involves a group of 'chilli' cars attacking a truck. Available to buy onSteam, it's nice and cheap.
Zombie Panic Source For Multiplayer gaming, this is the best zombie game out there. Teams split into humans and zombies, the former start off with only household objects as weapons before collecting guns. Zombies 'recruit' their team by biting humans.
Zero Gear Modern interpretation of Mario Kart for 8 player games. With fun car customisation, lots of power ups and action packed racing. Includes fairground antics and ice hockey games too. Available on Steam, expensive as a single license but a bargain as a 4 pack. We have 4 systems set up with this game at the start of the event.
Armagetron Deathmatch This is our tried and tested 'tron. Permanent walls mean that survival and not boxing yourself in is the key technique. The arena is fast and intense, and gets pretty busy, but everyone joins in the fun while watching the remaining players battle out. It gets... vocal.
CS Hide and Seek This mod makes counter terrorists blind for 30 seconds, while giving the terrorists time to find a hiding place. Further, terrorists can disguise themselves as an object from the map. This gets silly. Very silly.
Side Attraction : Fall Down The objective is to... fall, down. Threatening blades at the top of the screen will kill your character if you don't keep dropping through gaps that appear in the scrolling platforms. Played with 8 players on the projector screen.
Side Attraction : Bitstream Another projectorgames title - this time, you just need tto navigate your line around obstacles in a horizontal scrolling environment full of obstacles. It gets quite fast and intense.
