| What's EPiK? ESC Gaming and Playtime Gaming, incorporating Kustom PCs. A mash of all good things gaming related in Glasgow, joined together to make a rather good gaming event. ESC's excellent venue in Hope Street (Central Glasgow), with tournaments organised by Playtime Gaming and product demos and sales from Kustom, plus integrating the new Kustom Kup - a series of tournaments inspired by the randomness of the previous Kustom PCs LAN that inject some old fashioned fun and silliness into a LAN weekend. So what happens? EPiK 1 is a 50 person LAN party running from 6pm on Friday 18th July (consider this an early setup time) until 6pm Sunday 20th July. The weekend will have two main tournaments - an FPS tournament with £300 prize (vote for which gamehere) and an RTS (vote for which gamehere). Additionally, a number of 'big games' will be run, purely for fun. As we found at the recent Kustom LAN, running a game which everyone gets into (CS Zombie Panic being a great example) proves to be a great laugh and, surprisingly, it's something that's so often missed out in other LANs. We'll have a schedule of the weekend published shortly, so you know which games to have installed and patched up so that you can take part in as much as possible. And the Kustom Kup? Ah yes, this is a celebration of gaming in a sense of not just shooting things all the day. Not only have we introduced the fun of swimming dolphins to LANs around the country, we also had the first ever horse racing tournament at our last LAN. So expect things of this nature and a few more games to discover the true champion of random gaming. We'll have £50 of Kustom PCs vouchers for the person who acquires the most Kustom points over the weekend, £30 for runner up and £20 for 3rd place. And free Kool-Aid for anyone who takes part. Check our blog to see what happened at Kustom PCs LAN 1.
Anything else? Sure, ESC is already kitted out with plenty of things to amuse you - including classic arcade setups and some consoles - and also look out for GamboRaffle during the weekend, which is another way you might walk away with some cash. | | How much is it? You can either BYOC (Bring your own computer) and take part in the full weekend for £25, or if you want to rent an ESC PC for the weekend with all required games already loaded up then it's £35 for the weekend. If you want to secure your space, either pay a deposit or the full amount nowvia paypal to ESC.
Day passes can sometimes be organised by request. What facilities are there? ESC has space for sleeping (bring your own sleeping bag, naturally) and as well as soft drinks, snacks and coffees being available in the store (as well as the range from Kustom's imported sweets) there's loads of eateries available nearby, it's the centre of Glasgow after all. Where is it? ESC Games is at 166 Hope St, Glasgow, G2 2TJ. It's a really short walk from Glasgow Central Station, and although you can drop off your gear by car, parking in the city centre is a bit expensive but the organisers can help give you a lift back if you want to park further afield. Additionally, attendees from Ayr can have their computer delivered by Kustom to the event since Graeme will be driving back and forth anyway by van. Depending on demand for this, it may be possible to transport people too - please ask for more info. Google map Game Schedule Will be published in the next few days. Fancy a chat?
