Tip : Fan MeasurementsFans are measured by the width of their casing, so an 80mm fan has an outer casing width of 80mm. The mounting holes are typically offset by 5mm to the centers, so if you don't know the size of fan your case or cooler accepts, measure the distance between the center of two mounting holes and add 10mm (to allow for 5mm gap at each side) to confirm the fan size you need. So a hole distance of 110mm would use a 120mm fan, hole distance of 70mm would use a 80mm fan.
Note that sometimes 92mm fans are referred as 9cm fans - they are the same but just named with a 'rounded' number. | |
